Let's hope they like boring threads... /mumble

Yup, they do, thats why one created one. :)

Dislike:
Having their creations called boring.
Having their self-esteem lowerd
Being to showy of their feelings than they would like to be
Feeling guilty of sharing their feelings and thinking that they were rude or non-modest
Thinking that they should just delete their thread because someone has a problem with it
Realizing that everything has it's ups and downs
Realizing that they're making a big deal out of nothing and getting caught up in details
Realizing that they should just shut up. :)

Likes:
Compliments, both giving and receiving, more on the giving though
Nurturing others and seeing the good in them
Counseling others and helping them to find some measure of peace
Ideas, both formulating new ones and polishing existing ones
Words and finding new ways of expressing thoughts and ideas
Solitude
Politeness, humility, tolerance, magnanimity
Stress
Big picture

Dislikes:
Conflict
Ending relationships
Guilt borne of ending relationships
Guilt borne of feeling responsible for the emotional well-being of the world
Guilt borne of breathing oxygen that could benefit someone else
Did I mention guilt? of course, I guess we must like it to some degree...
Rudeness, aggression, arrogance
Stress
Tedious details (not always)

INFJs like when people actually care about THEIR problems for once!
INFJs like when others respect that they need to plan in advance.

INFJs dislike nagging, especially when they know that what they are being nagged about is something they are going to do... soon.
INFJs dislike bad manners. (I for one can't stand bad manners at all.)

INFJs like bed.
INFJs like books.
INFJs like alone-time, cave-time, withdrawal, whatever you want to call it.
INFJs like writing.
INFJs like being listened to.
INFJs like nature / outdoors
INFJs like being authentic. And when others like them for their authenticity. And best of all, when others are authentic with them.
INFJs like close friends, close family.
INFJs like deep conversation.
INFJs like singular hobbies (music, arts, reading, writing, running, archery, swimming).

INFJs do not like caustic speech.
INFJs do not like arguments for their own sake.
INFJs do not like hostile environments, perhaps more than other types.
INFJs do not like people who state their opinions like they are god's truth.
INFJs do not like incredibly loud, self-centered people.
INFJs do not do well with extremely demanding people; the INFJ will give, give, give, then doorslam (most likely). I think the doorslamming just gets more diplomatic and less absolute with age and maturity.
INFJs dislike smalltalk.
INFJs dislike huge, forced social gatherings and rituals.

Please forgive me if some of this "INFJs like..." has bled over into "Mochajava likes..."

This Straight Male INFJ: (apparently, we're rare)

  • LIKES tiny genuine signs of interest/affection from others on a semi-regular basis
  • LIKES creating new things, be they fictions, artworks, programs, worlds... maybe even paradigms of thought that help others.
  • DISLIKES not being shut out of another person's feelings and thoughts, especially where it pertains to them.
  • DISLIKES witnessing acts of selfishness, large or small, or other antisocial habits among those around them.

as an INFJ I am not able to relate to this. I hate competition and would much rather seen cooperation instead.

I would have to agree with you on that one. Sometimes I make competition without realizing it, and I even get into it, but I definatly dislike it.

You may have "bled over" some of yourself, but as an INFJ, this description is completely accurate, to the last detail. I thought "Wow, this is all totally me."

All I can say is that it's wonderful that the world has male INFJ's. I can't stand all those guys who think you have to kill, argue, and win everything to be a guy.

Crazy. I wonder how much of this is type vs. personality... the eternal question, I suppose. I'll come up with more just to see how far the similarity goes, because this is intriguing!

INFJs like giving advice
INFJs like getting advice
INFJs like to know what's really going on with someone
INFJs like causes, activism, and working for a deeper reason than money
INFJs like puzzles
INFJs like being mentors
INFJs are selective about their friends and people they spend time with. I use the words "chosen family" to describe that inner circle for me.

INFJs don't do well with people who are shallow or whose present themselves as shallow
INFJs don't do well with arrogant people, particularly when they don't have anything to back it up
INFJs don't do well in extremely loud environments, especially if it's prolonged (e.g., a noisy officemate)
INFJs don't do well with a very very high amount of detail...

There's a lot of social conditioning around the behaviors you've described. Those guys might be INFJs, you never know...!
