    Ah, that was a good one. I liked the ones where Q or Troi's mother would show up. There is a lot of good T.V. today, but it pains me that nothing that thought provoking and serious and simultaneously cheesy can exist sincerely anymore.

    Trying to find quotes about perseverance and motivation in the face of obstacles that don't sound bitter, cliche, new age self-helpy, or like they're trying to be inspirational. Surprised and a tiny bit amused at how not quickly it's going.

    Did you ever watch Fringe? That was an amazing show, with plenty of hilarious nonsense injected into an otherwise serious show. How John Noble never won an Emmy for his portrayal of Walter Bishop is something I'll never understand.

    LOST was like that IMO. It's not a current show but I figure it's recent enough that it counts.

    I gave up on that show after the first half of season 1. Does it get better after that? (Not that it was bad, but I didn't care about any of the characters and I don't think an overarching plot had developed yet.)
