    chompin at the bit
    You hem me in -- behind and before;
    you have laid your hand upon me.
    Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

    A couple of major things happened to me this morning:

    1) My now-first-ex broke up with me
    2) My computer crashed 3 times, each time showing me every computer scientist's worst nightmare - THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH

    So naturally, I broke down. I couldn't take the pain alone like this at first. But then I remembered that I have friends at my volunteer service who would understand and try to help me out; so I talked to them, followed their advice with taking my laptop to the support desk in the library (TIL that they can fix computers without charge), and took a break from my volunteer service for the day.

    Yes, I'm still distraught in some ways - but I will make it through. There's still hope in my heart yet.

    As for the first major thing? I now have time to rediscover who I am, and I will learn to love myself. And maybe 20 years down the road, when my children ask me for stories of my college years, I will gladly tell them about the first (and perhaps last) boyfriend I had... and that he was the kindest, most romantic man I ever met in those days.

    On the plus side, I first read this as "my mom's-first-ex".
