That strange mix of isolation and contentment that I'll usually only get late at night, surrounded by a few empty beer cans and zero fucks of what tomorrow might bring.

Thinking a lot about my ex lately. We've been hanging out a lot since our "let's just give each other space" period and even as friends, it feels as if our relationship hasn't changed much. Just less hand holding and very scarce mention of the "L" word. But still, she's been going through some major depression issues long before I even met her and even now, I'm still playing her shoulder of confidence to convince her that she shouldn't have to feel so worthless all the time and how much I appreciate her, not just as ex partner, but as a general human being and how every other person in her life, major or small, surely feels the same way too.

Then she sent me this little message out of nowhere.

Which I honestly think, is one the nicest things somebody has ever said to me before, like ever, in my entire life.

Fi overload right now. I don't even know anymore, man... just feels good to be alive, you know?

I feel so extraordinarily, so unequivocally, so evocatively exhausted. One more time I think, and then enough is enough.
The two would never be separated, and some say they are together still, up amongst the stars where hamsters are giants and men become legends.
