    Me: Uhh...
Brain: Or think about the fact that you're 25 and are not married. How do you feel about dying alone? Unloved? With no one to relate to?
    Me: *hyperventilates*
Brain: Right now, you're basically on a rock in the middle of the ocean, except the ocean is made of everything awful you've ever experienced, and everyone you love has abandoned you.

That's basically my Sunday night every time. Do you guys experience this at all? Cause I'm 3 Lorazepams and 2 melatonins in and I hope sleep happens sometime soon.
Sort of. Mirtazapine was helpful to me for both sleep and anxiety. The downside is that it tends to make you hungry, so it's not something you typically want to use long term.

As to myself I guess the fact that I don't touch people who are sick for the purpose of 'making them feel better' (ie: getting sick and infecting other people is not my view of a nice thing to do to others when you could have prevented it with basic hygiene and staying away from sick people)

First of all I don't have any 'fear' of sickness or germs, I just don't see why people seem so willing to do stuff that any preschooler should know is going to skyrocket the chances of them getting sick. It's a mystery to me (ie: I think it's shortsighted).

I'm generally angry when I hear of my friends/loved ones getting infected due to the careless behavior of other people. Like someone who KNOWS they are sick going to hug etc. my SO. And sick people who couldn't postpone a visit by a few days as not to infect people close to me. That's so damn selfish/stupid. Makes my blood boil.

    a) i don't breath in sick people air (sneeze-air, rooms where someone with flue or whatsnot has been cooking for a few hours). i hold my breath if people sneeze etc and expel air before breathing in again when im out of the cloud of miasma and wash hands / face afterwards when possible

    b) i dont touch sick people if i can avoid it, if i do i'll wash my hands (and my face if I touched it with my hands in the meantime)

    c) i wash my hands frequently

    d) obviously i don't do dumb stuff like sharing bottles with strangers or worst, with sick people or sharing plates.

    e) in case of anything transmitted by air I make sure to open the windows frequently.

    f) I don't go out of my way to touch the things sick people touched or caughed at (or potentially did) - if I do I wash my hands

    g) I don't go out of my way to touch my face over and over again - especially muceous membranes - like most people do just after having touched a potential infection vector. Then washing your hands won't save you, you'll have to wash your face as well and hope you haven't turned into a virus/bacteria replicating machine just yet.
I don't think I've caught anything infectious in the past 5 years

Policies may vary based on the type of symptoms exhibited of course. The purpose is just to minimize chances of infection based on the known infection vectors.
And of course I extend the same courtesy to my fellow human beings.

that should keep you safe from 90% of illnesses most people catch while being thoughtless / trying to be nice to walking-infections instead of seeing the bigger picture and trying to minimize the spread and so saving many people from feeling like shit for a few days at the price of lof one's delusion of being a 'good person' people get from doing nonsense.

hugs don't cure diseases, they spread them.
Wow! My INTJ mom will be pleased to know that I received these tips lol
I can't think of it all the time, I mean I hate getting sick but it's really hard for me to keep focused on that all the time

Well if you look at it it's pretty much 2/3 simple rules, I just gave specifics.

    1) wash any part of you that touched directly (hands) or indirectly (face) something that might be contagious
    2) don't breath in 'sick air' (open windows, don't breath in until out of miasma if someone coughed/sneezed there)
    3) Generally stay away from sick people if possible.

So essentially: when dealing with sick people apply logic first. You can't control your immune system but you can control your actions.

or put in an NF way: don't cause many people to suffer (become sick) because you want one person to feel 0.1% better. You'd be causing rather than preventing harm.

    thought experiment:
A sister in a convent applies compresses to a very sick person without taking all necessary steps to prevent from being infected. Her patient gets better but she gets ill and contaminates 2 people before the spread can be stopped.
One of these 2 people die.

    Who is responsible

    --------------------

In my eyes the sister is responsible of manslaughter if you could ever prove this chain of event. Similar cases happened with AIDS and people who knowingly exposed other people were jailed. The only difference is that in the case of flue etc. it's harder to track who infected whom. But it doesn't make it any different - thoughtless acts exposing people to danger.
