"No ray of sunshine is ever lost, but the green which it awakes into existence needs time to sprout, and it is not always granted to the sower to see the harvest. All work that is worth anything is done in faith." - Albert Schweitzer
Yeah, I can only stand watching a movie unless I can respect the characters or in someway understand what they are going through. If I can't establish a social link between myself and them then I just get really bored and cynical of it.
I try to avoid relating myself to character in a movie, if I can do so. I just want to see the issues/questions the movie raises, from a detached perspective, also on the quality of the movie, rather than relate to a character, even the hero, I view it neutrally.
I tend to view movies not linking myself to the character, if I can manage it. I want to see the issues/questions the movie raises from a detached perspective rather than try to relate, thats just me though.
A detached perspective you say... Interesting. I think that would drive me haywire. Does that make you happy watching a movie like that?
