Default How often do you wonder if you're being yourself?

Also, how do you create a poll? (So I can turn this into one)

    In the past, a lot.

    Nowadays, not so much.

I'm more inclined to wonder what my self is, than whether I'm being it...Maybe they're sort've the same thing...

    Though...that's a tricky one, actually...

Which self is the truest? What selves are there? Which is the most valid, the most important, the best, even if that doesn't mean the truest? Am I my feelings? My thoughts? My thoughts and feelings have always been hopelessly intertwined, interlinked.

I thinkfeel I must put my whole self into being as good a person as I can. I feelthink there's not much there when I really try and...feel.

Far too little or much too much.

    I guess it's about belife....maybe...

And even when there's much too much there's still a kind of emptiness I've never been able to put into words past 'sense of self'.

Do you wonder if you really are that much of happy extravert as you make other people see?

No I tend to be a very happy person, but I am always wondering if I am on center (something very typical of ENFP's)

Most of the time, yes. But sometimes I have those epic moments where I'm not under 3 feet of blankets in my mind. I'm out in the open doing things as I instinctively want to. It feels great when I'm out of my head, and I can feel like myself.

Thus this only happens once every 3 months or so.

I don't really wonder about it, but sometimes I know I'm not.

I often realize, when I'm doing something I will regret, that I am not really being "true" to myself.

I define my "true self" as my greatest potential--not perfection, but myself at my best.

I'm "betraying" my true self when I am cold, uncompassionate, or narrow-minded.

These things come from me, from what you might call my "Shadow," so in that sense, they are all a part of my self.

But as I learn to resist the temptation of reacting purely on instinct, I am more able to stay true to my greatest potential--my "true self",

I realize this will not make sense to at least half of the people here, but I'm fairly confident that the other half can relate.

From the FAQ section of TypoC:

    Creating a new poll

When you post a new thread, you may have the option to also create a poll.

This function allows you to ask a question and specify a number of possible responses. Other members will then be able to vote for the response they wish, and the results of the voting will be displayed in the thread.

    An example poll might be:

    What is your favorite color?

    Red
    Blue
    Yellow
    Green
    Sky-blue pink with yellow spots
To create a poll when you post a new thread, simply click the 'Yes! post a poll' checkbox at the bottom of the page, and set the number of possible responses you want to include.

When you click the submit button, you will be taken to the poll creation page, where you can specify the question and the list of responses you want to include.

You may also want to specify a time limit for the poll, so that (for example) it only stays open for voting for a week.

Voting in and viewing a poll
To vote in a poll, simply select which option you want to vote for, and click the [Vote!] button. You may view the current results for a poll before you vote by clicking the 'View Results' link. Voting in a poll is entirely optional. You may vote for any of the available options, or cast no vote at all.

Generally, once you have voted in a poll, you will not be able to change your vote later, so place your vote carefully!

In recent years, it was a main concern and confusion in my head. As Liminality said up there, the big question was/is trying to figure out who is "the real me." Still thinking, building an identity...

NFs, please continue. I would be glad to hear more from this thread.

Edit: I don't know if there was actually any fundamental confusion. I know who I am, except when I start to doubt it. But my "basic self" was/is hard to define, and separate from the other parts. I guess I mean it's hard to analyze head-on, and easier to get as a fuzzy concept.
