Just to let you know, in Socionics which is similar to MBTI introverts are switched a bit.

The J/P is determined by primary function, so all Js have judgment functions and all Ps perception functions primary. Let me give you an example

    Socionics

    INFJ
    Introverted Feeling
    Extroverted Intuition

    INFP
    Introverted Intuition
    Extroverted Feeling

I have a bigger post on it, but you guys, especially Introverts should look into it. You may find you like MBTI better to describe you, or you may find Socionics fits the bill.

As far as Fi and Fe. I think in its basic form, Fi forms internal values and then expresses those when violated in an extreme fashion, normally being unbending in those values.

Fe forms values based on external social norms, and will defend those values, however are more likely to bend to keep people happy.

Fi won't back down as easily if a value is violated, but also won't be as likely to express the value outwardly as Fe.

Shouldn't mix Socionics into this here. While it's a good system, Fe and Fi are different there.

Which is precisely why they need to be mixed. You should not box yourself out like that. What about those people who MBTI just isn't making sense? Perhaps they find Socionics explains some things and puts things together that MBTI doesn't.

Also, since both are based on Jung, the function types shouldn't be that much different, since it was his framework it is based off of.

I had this awesome insight into Fi and Fe today. I was going to post it but I didn't write it down. Now I've completely forgotten it.

    I wonder what it was.

Sorry! It was more of a feeling than a fully formed thought anyway. If it comes back I'll be sure to write it down.

That comment^ totally reminds me of "Waiting For Godot". There's something kind of tragi-comic about it.

Wow. Seriously you have no clue what the difference is between Fe & Fi, do you?

Wouldn't you think Fe Expresses and Fi In-presses

    The best empress impresses, thou.

Seriously, Fi users CAN express emotions facially, or through body language, or through passion filled logical analysis, or through art, or they can keep it within their selves.

The best lessons are unspoken, and kept within.

That is the essence of Fi.

Learning without thinking, or expressing. You just feel and know.

You've got a little bit of it being an INTJ. Just stop trying to analyze it. It's what keeps you from being a potential evil mastermind.

    Your conscience, silly :P

    A post I made 3 years ago.
Please don't explain Fi and Fe to me. I believe I have a good understanding of what they are.

Fair enough, but it was so out of whack I thought it best to reply at least for anyone else who would have wanted to know.
