I am confused by your language above. Do you feel attacked in this thread? I feel like you express yourself very well, but when others open up with their own thoughts, you appear to become defensive, and tend to close off. I've noticed it in other threads on occasion.

Personally I hope you continue to add your input. Agreeing or not agreeing with it is irrelevant. Everyone has interesting and contemplative thoughts to share. So please share yours; don't worry if others debate it or even flagrantly oppose it.
I will continue to contribute my thoughts, but I refuse to debate.

I don't like to debate, and I'm not particularly good at it.

I'm interested in sharing my ideas, that's all.

I see no reason to defend them.

I don't mind being wrong, or reconsidering my ideas.

The whole reason I'm posting them is to see what people think.

People can quote me and they can criticize my ideas all they want, but I'm not obligated in any way to respond.

I will simply read what they've said, and consider it.

This is the way I learn.

I throw out ideas, and see what people do with them.

    I'm a catalyst, that's all.

And I want to raise the deeper, stickier issues because they aren't often discussed.

I know there are holes in my explanations, and I'm comfortable with that fact.

I don't find personal attacks very helpful, but amidst the personal attacks are usually good points that I can use to fill in the holes with.

That has certainly been the case in this thread.

I can see this alot about ENFP types. How do you come up with your ideas? There are 2 ways that this can be used that I can see. To see how someone responds or to see if someone will respond. I know it sounds the similiar, but one is just wanting to understand and the other is hoping for an action.

Yeah, I think you described my process pretty well.

That's what being a catalyst is all about.

It's not about defending one's turf, but exploring new territory.

It's not about "being right", but initiating some kind of change----a new way of thinking about something, a different angle on it, facing the darker aspects of it, etc.......

It's not always comfortable, but it's interesting, isn't it?

Sometimes I ask questions, and sometimes I make statements, but I'm always probing for new information and new understanding.

Kalach..feel free to kick me for derailing your thread, but I would like to ask about inferior Si at this point, and how it fits in, how it's experienced in contrast to Te etc.

Okay so I'm making notes here, white space means Ne, paragraphs (that do not feature ellipsis marks) are Te.

Except that technically a single sentence sitting by itself is still a paragraph.

Wonk, watch your back, bud, Te'z in yer sentences touching your thoughts.

The New ENFP Te Demand: I'm disorganised as hell and that's none of your business, but when I care about what's coming next you damn well better be ready with the process.

(I'm not trying to be rude, I just get lucky.)

    Interesting analysis.

    I really enjoy your input.

    You provide unusal angles.

I can think of one ENFP in particular who is very good at peacemaking.

This person's quotes look sloppy and unorganized, and no strong opinions are expressed.

The person seems ditzy and superficial in posts, though I know for a fact, the person is very intelligent and insightful.

I often wonder if I should use this approach, but at this point in my life, I'm just not comfortable with it.

Maybe as I continue to grow, things will change, I don't know......

^ why should you want to use that approach here? And it's transparent who you mean to me, so if you don't want to leave that sentence in I won't quote it here.

I use the "ditzy" approach from time to time IRL - being a woman I can get away with playing a little "dumb" about techie things, guy things like cars, construction etc. and I use it to work in my favour. But I certainly don't think it helps anyone respect my intelligence, however. Purely a manipulation tactic, and that's not necessarily a bad (or good) thing.
