happy, yes, but happiness is a transient feeling.

satisfied/fulfilled? rarely. NF idealism tends to inhibit a sense of long-term satisfaction.. we're always striving for more.

so long as the striving and idealizing produces some contentment or happiness, i don't see this as particularly problematic.

My life is okay. It's good, but it has a few flaws. It's sad, but I don't mind. I just hope things will get better eventually (and I think they will).

No, and I wouldn't call myself happy even if I were. Happiness is a closed book, a finished journey. You experience it when you've accomplished something and have nothing to accomplish. Happiness is an empty stomach that feels full. Of course, I want to be happy--who doesn't?--but I'll never be.

I call myself Carolyn, but yes, most of the time I'm happy. And when I'm not I'm pissed or sad.

No, but I most definitely wouldn't call myself unhappy or depressed.

I would say that I'm happy. I think being happy helps me jump out of my comfort zone and continue to grow. In order to remain happy I need to grow.

Happier than I dared hope. Of course, I am a pessimist.

If you could hit the reset switch for another roll of the dice, you wouldn't.

Wonderfully put :)

However, I'm not sure I agree with it. I'm living pretty much an unhappy life, but I'm happy about myself as a person. I'm just in a bad life situation, bad environment. If I could reset all of these external issues without reseting myself, I just might.

One might think, however, that I have caused all of these "external issues" myself... so I'm wondering whether there's really any rational thought in being happy about myself after all.

NF's, would you call yourself happy?

I'm ENFP, and I'd say happy, but with a feeling of being dissatisfied and driving for more. That doesn't mean I regret what I've done and am dissatisfied with the past or would change it, just that I'm progressive and I can't do everything I want to do in one lifetime.

I'm not happy because I don't let myself be happy, don't ask why. But I'm working on it.
Lol, if only I could switch my I to E. *looked at poll results*

I'm not an extremely optimistic person, and I don't like self-pity.

Grief is fine for a while, it's necessary for introspection to occur, but all things pass.

I am in general a very happy person, though it may not be prevalent at some times.

Interesting thought--then I guess I would define myself as "happy" simply because I wouldn't live my life in a different way. Each journey I have taken has resulted in new awareness about myself and others. If I couldn't grow, or take risks then I would not be "happy." If I couldn't strive for change, then I wouldn't be "happy."
