Happier than I dared hope. Of course, I am a pessimist.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

    Wonderfully put

However, I'm not sure I agree with it. I'm living pretty much an unhappy life, but I'm happy about myself as a person. I'm just in a bad life situation, bad environment. If I could reset all of these external issues without reseting myself, I just might.

One might think, however, that I have caused all of these "external issues" myself... so I'm wondering whether there's really any rational thought in being happy about myself after all.

I'm ENFP, and I'd say happy, but with a feeling of being dissatisfied and driving for more. That doesn't mean I regret what I've done and am dissatisfied with the past or would change it, just that I'm progressive and I can't do everything I want to do in one lifetime.

I'm not happy because I don't let myself be happy, don't ask why. But I'm working on it.
Lol, if only I could switch my I to E. *looked at poll results*

I'm not an extremely optimistic person, and I don't like self-pity.

Grief is fine for a while, it's necessary for introspection to occur, but all things pass.

I am in general a very happy person, though it may not be prevalent at some times.
Is it that by its indefiniteness it shadows forth the heartless voids and immensities of the universe, and thus stabs us from behind with the thought of annihilation, when beholding the white depths of the milky way?

Interesting thought--then I guess I would define myself as "happy" simply because I wouldn't live my life in a different way. Each journey I have taken has resulted in new awareness about myself and others. If I couldn't grow, or take risks then I would not be "happy." If I couldn't strive for change, then I wouldn't be "happy."
