    Interesting theory. It may have some credence, as in college I scored as several types that I tended to get along with really easily.

    It's easy to answer the questions as how you would like to view yourself, rather than how you are. Makes sense that you'd be drawn to people that exhibit those characteristics.

    i think this is especially true of NFs and SJs, but this is just based on my experiences with a handful of people.

    I test INFP when I feel insecure coz that's the image I want to project at that time. I prefer the INFP profile over the ENFP one. It's a projection of how I'd ideally want myself to be, and also something I've been subconsciously working towards being for many years. My E/I therefore isn't that far apart.

    When I am feeling more intense than I normally am, stressed in some way, or angry I test ESTJ or ENTJ.

    As for testing normally I get INTP or INTJ, sometimes ENTJ. I think this is due to crappy wording and crappy tests overall.

    Also, why the heck is this in the NF section?

    Agreed on NFs, especially those NFPs that can never seem to identify their type. (It's one of their defining features!)

    Funny - for the longest time I always envied those emotive and charming ENFPs. Heh. I scored as ENFP at one time.

    Well this didn't start out a conversation about NTs... They just managed to warp it into an NT session session

    Because I was also discussing my NF friend.
    Often a star was waiting for you to notice it. A wave rolled toward you out of the distant past, or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing. All this was mission. But could you accomplish it? (Rilke)

    And I always envied that little halo you guys have around your heads, and your ability to shut the F*** up

    Isn't there like a way to be an NFP hybrid?

    I've wresteled with this many times. Will all the talk of how easily it is to mistype yourself between S/N, its a coin flip. I tend to think of myself more as an INTP because as I read their general profile it fits me better than ISTP (even though ISTP is a pretty damn close description)
    ...Then I ducked my head and the lights went out, and two guns blazed in the dark;
    And a woman screamed, and the lights went up, and two men lay stiff and stark...
