So?

Plan ahead. I'm sure you can slot it in.

This could be solved with a Google calendar.

Author, you are alright. If you are used to alone time, do things like sports to condition yourself to being around people. I often go 1-2 weeks at a time without being ever really alone.

What is it like from an INFJ standpoint...the thought of going out? I don't mean going out on the town, although that would be included in the scope...but just at the idea of going out to say, get groceries...anyplace where it's likely there will be lots of people. I guess the extreme would be like going to a major sporting event like the Indy500 (this weekend)..

Is it scary? Is it just draining? Is it both? Something else instead or in addition? A myriad of emotions? I have been wondering this.

I ask for your enlightenment...What goes through your soul before leaving the house to go do something in these places? What thoughts do you get?

Thanks :)

From an INFJ standpoint:
The thought of going out usuallly excites me. I really enjoy being around people - however, only for short periods of time. I get tired very quickly if I am around others too long.
Going out on the town is extremely exhausting. I don;t have big nights out anymore - I usually leave early. It's not that I don't want to stay out, it's just that I get so drained from being out.
I really enjoy going out and socialising with groups of people, however, only in small doses.
When I'm at home, I spend a lot of time by myself away from my family. Only because being around others all the time exhausts me.
I love going to peaceful little towns and escaping the rat race I live in. I feel so at peace in small places. People who live in small rural places dont seem as stressed either. I think this really makes a difference - city people are always in a hurry and I think you can really feel that energy - that energy tires you.
However, being at home for a couple of days in a row and not speaking to anyone sort of drives my head in. I need people to stay sane, but not in large doses. Need to get the balance right.

For me, simply going out wouldn't be a problem. I think the problem for me mostly is emotional attachment, whether towards the "safe place" I have, or people's opinion of me. I admit it's a problem at first but I've learned to somewhat emotionally detach myself to be able to do my daily life well, so simply going out to a crowded place might not be a problem if I really wanted it.

When it's a huge gathering with people I've known, that's a problem. >_>; I found out that emotionally detaching myself and people I'd known before was harder.

I won't think it's scary; draining, yes. Especially if it's people I didn't know well, people I have certain dislikes or fears of, or others, like crushes or people I'd wanted to know better. Fear of looking bad?

What goes on inside my head? More like "what should I do / what would happen / will I do well?" And yes, it's kinda tiring.

Solitude, sometimes, seems to be one of the best choices to stay sane these days :)

You guys can be hard to find sometimes. But you write wonderful letters. And when I call an INFJ on the phone or meet with them in person, they always express themselves freely. (I am aware that I'm overgeneralizing, but this has been my experience.) It's not a problem that you enjoy solitude, unless you are unwilling to "be there" for people too much of the time. This is what INFJs I know excell at.

Being in large groups or interacting with strangers or people I don't know well is very draining, but I have no problem being in a small group of people I know well. I do need plenty of "alone time", though.
