Just put some big black spacers in Kitty's ears and we should be good to go.

“Pleasure to me is wonder—the unexplored, the unexpected, the thing that is hidden and the changeless thing that lurks behind superficial mutability. To trace the remote in the immediate; the eternal in the ephemeral; the past in the present; the infinite in the finite; these are to me the springs of delight and beauty.” ~ H.P. Lovecraft
Do you think the fellow in the photograph would agree with your disapproval??
I assure you, he wouldn't.
I have worked with individuals who have trisomy 21, and I think they are fantastically kind, warm and humorous human beings. They have a wonderful sense of humor and absolutely love to laugh.
I have yet to meet a politically correct "retard", well actually, lol, I have.
But I apologize if I offended you.
I don't doubt that you didn't mean any harm by it. My concern is that it's clearly someone's personal photo, and I don't think his family would be all that jazzed by it floating around on the internet. As you probably are aware, DS can make them very vulnerable, very open and expressive of their emotions, to a point where they need to be protected more than others from those who would wish to make them a point of derision.
Not to say that all people who have learning disabilities, or Downs are saints walking the Earth. Some folks are developmentally challenged AND not so great people. But most of them are very sweet, very kind, as you said. Once, Pink and I were modeling at a hair show, and while all of the models were out in the hall, waiting to go on stage at the hotel, a large group of Special Olympians passed by us on their way to a luncheon in the next room. Of course, they wanted to hug us and say hello - I was really afraid the girls were going to get weird about it, but they didn't. We gave them all hugs and said hi. lol It was a nice moment.
