    Default My Fresher's Ball...

... is next Wednesday. What do I weeeaaaaaaar? The ticket says 'smart/casual' but what the hell is that? This has been a serious topic of discussion all over college today, and it would seem that no one knows... so I'll ask you
    Here are some options:
    1. smart jeans, smart top, may be too casual
    2. black pencil skirt, smart top
    3. a dress I already have which is white with big black flowers, the skirt poofs out, its strapless and it has a sorta corset-y top. May be too summery and maybe too formal
    4. I could buy a nice LBD, but this season they are all so short I'd want to glue it to me just to feel even a little bit secure xD

    Opinions/suggestions?

A summer dress, or a flowy skirt + semidressy shirt.

I'm sure there was a joke in there, but I'm too tired to get it

In case there wasn't; it's a ball for all the people starting at college this year

That was what I was originally going to go for (see option 3) but I think it might be too dayish and needs a bit of nightifying?

your third option seemed somewhat too formal..however I'm not sure what the connotations of "smart" are, since it's not a very common term here.

I'd imagine you'll be fine as long as you don't go too casual or too formal though...with enough people, there'll be people at both extremes.

Yeah...Produce is fresh, like at the grocery store, you know. In any event, I recommend wobbly stilettos for any occasion worth attending.

Smart Casual in the UK = comfortable clothes but no denim or sportwear

You won't go wrong with a smart skirt and a top.
