    Default Vanilla in Perfume

I don't know much about perfume. For example, I'm actually not quite sure what "musky" smells like. But I often come across perfumes that women wear that carry hints of vanilla. I notice vanilla in perfume is quite popular, but personally I dislike it. Am I the only one?

I remember in middle school I really liked when the girls would wear vanilla spray or perfume or whatever, and I told them so.

I could see how someone could dislike it though.

Ooooh YES! Nothing makes me gag over perfume more than a vanilla scent!

Think it goes back to memories of a girl I went to school with who had a terrible BO problem and used to try to mask it with vanilla scented perfume, we'd be stuck in a stinking hot room and all that we could smell was vanilla laced BO! To this day I can't handle the aroma *gag*

Vanilla is too sweet...and cakey. Don't want to smell like a bakery.

I like vanilla, but it's easy to ruin it if it's a cheap perfume. If you wear vanilla, it needs to have a rich smell. I really like "bakery" smells in perfumes. I'm not so keen on musky or floral.

My favorite is Bvlgari Omnia. It's got a few "food" smells in there, like white chocolate, but it's not overpowering.

Allegedly, it's one of the scents that get men going. Along with pumpkin pie.
    Don't ask me - I didn't do the research.

I like vanilla in food, but we used to have an air freshener that made me gag. I don't think I'd like it as a perfume, either.

-How beautiful, this pale Endymion hour.
    -What are you talking about?
-Endymion, my dear. A beautiful youth possessed by the moon.
-Well, forget about him and get to bed.
    -Yes, my dear.
