Is that how you spell recommend? Probably.

Is it just me or are movies today getting more and more lame?

I want to watch something good. Got any suggestions?

I liked the outdoor adventure and intensity of The Edge.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy... at least watch the first and best one if you haven't already.

    I am Legend was... different.

A few others which come to mind which I found interesting or appealing:

    Great Expectations
    A Beautiful Mind
    October Sky

    I thought of some more:

    Eve's Bayou

    Snow Falling on Cedars

    The White Countess

Also, if you've never seen it:

The Man in Gray Flannel Suit

A Brief Encounter (Only the this version, there's a later version that's just awful)

The Best Years Of Our Lives

My favorite movie is I Heart Huckabees. It's philosophical, absurd, spiritual, creative, and funny. It's also kind of mysterious. Well paced, too.
