    The Seven Samauri
    Casablanca
    It's a Wonderful Life
    Life is Beautiful
    Forest Gump
    Star Wars: A New Hope
Les Miserables (Black and White Version)
I can't believe a Lucas film made your list. :steam:

After having watched it for the first time only two years ago, I now know why Casablanca is considered one of the best films of all time. It makes my short short list.

    Big Trouble in Little China

The only Kurt Russel movie I ever enjoyed.

(and yes, that includes Captain Ron, which, although poignant and touching, was missing a certain Asian flair)

Yes, when I recommend movies, I prefer to know if the recommendee knows what a movie is, and has ever seen one. Tends to influence my choices. lol

I can't believe it wasn't The Empire Strikes Back. And It's a Wonderful Life and Forrest Gump might not make my 4.5 star list, let lone 5 stars. I do like them, though. I also think Se7en, The Game, and Zodiac are all better Fincher pictures than Fight Club.

My own recommendation (if you haven't seen it before): Chinatown. That may be the greatest Hollywood screenplay of all time, and Polanski and Nicholson knock it out of the park. It's really a marvel.
