    Default Things I Overheard

I don't know about you guys, but I am always overhearing weird/hilarious things. For example, today I was at the supermarket, and I overheard this conversation between a young man and his daughter, who was about five or six:

Dad: "I am never taking you anywhere ever again."
    Daughter: "Why not?"
Dad: "Because you're being a buttface."
    Daughter: "Nuh-uh!"
    Dad: "Yuh-huh!"

    Sigh. When children have children.

Anyway, what are some funny things that you've overheard?

"I was in the the senate before it was a porn theater" ~ Random guy talking to another guy in Harrisburg.

I will probably never know what that meant.

Default The first thing you should know about this is that I am a huge idiot.

The kind of idiot who eats packets of hot sauce in the cafeteria because he miscalculated the size of the lunch he needed to pack the night before.

When you do stupid shit like eating packets of hot sauce straight, without putting it on top of food, people understandably take issue to that. It made a whole table of kids laugh. I didn't give a shit.

The administrators gave a shit. I got sent to the office for it.

A couple years later, I sat at a big lunch table with a bunch of kids who were talking about "the hot sauce kid." They didn't seem to notice or recognize me as him at all.
They did, however, address me be my real name when I sat with them.
When I revealed I was this kid they were talking about, they reacted as if they were surprised -- which indicates they completely forgot it was me.

So -- I laughed a lot mentally when I overheard them talking about this Hot Sauce Kid, because I was right there and they didn't even notice.

    That's pretty adorable!

Everything that my 6-year-old son says is hilarious! Seriously.

The other day my friend took him to get his hair cut (long story, she was doing me a favor for a favor I did her).

He says to her, "You know, wouldn't it be great if numbers went on to infinity BEFORE 0 as well as after?"

(My friend who is an ESTJ and LOVES math, was thrilled)
"Actually, they do! They are called negative numbers!"

"No way!? You made that up!"

    "For real!"

    "YOU JUST BLEW MY MIND!"

Said loudly from a woman pushing a shopping cart to a large, solid and not very friendly looking woman, but clearly a woman, "Sir or Ma'am, do you have any money to spare?"

"If you think about it, Hitler wasn't such a bad guy" - Some random woman in the line at Woolworths, everyone in the vicinity went silent.

heh reminds me of big lebowski.

    Also, Woolworth's still exists?

Given my knowledge of Woolworth's is limited to the lunch counter sit-ins this hardly surprises me.

Ah. Apparently not the same company we had here. You guys just stole the name.

The name doesn't bring about many fond memories in the US.

Someone walks up to me at work to get a money order--she's on the phone and is trying to wrap up the conversation so I can greet and help her. And the last thing she says to the person she's talking to is, "And stop sending me those stupid emojis! They're not funny and I want you to stop." I just thought this was really funny.

Edit: Should probably add this this was a middle aged woman, and when she said that I couldn't help but imagine some younger person sending her a string of poop emojis or something.
