Thank you. I am done around 85% of the work (everything is written and cited, I am just editing now).

It was a LOT worse before in the fall, but I am actually, in a strange sort of way, enjoying the process right now. It's largely because I had an incident earlier this year (full story here if you're interested) that was rather alarming and when I told my adviser he became very accommodating towards how I go about this. Not so much with lowering the standards of the work I have to do, but allowing me to go at my own pace, and giving me as much space as possible to get it done. My adviser has seen me break down enough times that he's learned exactly how to let me so that doesn't happen. How he figured it out I am not sure because part of the time I wouldn't expect what he does for me to work, and it does. What's also helping is I have been told by multiple people that I'm pretty much garunteed to pass. For better or for worse, I'm more sensitive than I like admitting, and fight against it too much.

The worst experience I had was actually doing my third year seminar last spring, largely because what that required me to do was within my weakest area. The way the oral exam's requirements are play to my strengths.

@Hard I'm with Rasofy, sorta, on this, which is to say that your name is apt when one considers your posting style. You mentioned that you really don't like your current name though (haven't since 2 months after?) and THIS is more important imo. Your happiness/contentedness with your name is important. I've wanted to do "aqua regia" for a while, and whenever I considered it, I thought of you.

I like both HARD and ISOPRENE.

Just remember you only get to change your username twice. Then you're stuck with it FOREVER.
