From the radio: When people compare themselves to other people, it's usually only those aspects where they think the other person has it better than them; it's never the totality of their lives.
If people had the emotional maturity to accept that others may have different views, the world would be a far better place.

While reading about one of my favourite cheeses, Cheshire cheese, I inadvertedly stumbled across the story of the Cheshire Mammoth Cheese. In 1802 the upright citizens of Cheshire, Massachusetts, gifted President Jefferson a cheese with the motto "Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God."

This cheese apparently weighed in at 1234 lb, was four feet wide and 15 inches thick.

Today I learned that the Beatles song Norwegian Wood is literally about a guy burning down a woman's house because she wouldn't have sex with him.

    I like that song, though.

Good to see that white men have retained the same sense of violent entitlement after all this time.

The North Korean dictator has banned the name "Jong-Un" from being used in the country. People already named "Jong-Un" are forced to change it.

The English pop band Dexys Midnight Runners have 43 current and former members.

Know your haters. Believe it or not, they're usually not the type of person you'd actually hate have as your hater. It will help you understand that being disliked doesn't have to be so bad after all.
(After I had confirmed that the kind of person who strongly dislikes me is also the kind of person I hope I'll never end up as.)
