Tonight the sky is clear and still, full of stars, so tomorrow morning will be frosty, perhaps two degrees below freezing but will bloom into a gorgeous sunny day.
Just before I came in tonight I was caught by two possums. They were at the base of a large Pin Oak. One was quite small and together they looked like mother and baby. They were quite friendly - they didn't run away at all. We looked at one another and I soothed them with my voice.
They live in my roof and climb out onto the branches of the Pin Oaks and down to the ground. And I have only seen them at night.
Fortunately I have beside me a radiant heater that is warming me on this frosty night and the heat is rising to my roof and keeping my mother possum and her baby warm as well. We are all warm and toasty as Jack Frost casts his spell on the world.
