    Default Help a n00b tan.

I'm broke/can't spend $ because I'm going on vacation to my sister's wedding. The beach is rather close and I'm thinking I'll go lay out and listen to my headphones at the beach or something this weekend (don't only girls lay out with the intent of getting a tan? Oh well.). What works to get a decent tan? I know there's tanning oil. Can you mix that with sunscreen as not to burn, or is it one or the other (no homo)? I have fair to average skin complexion. I don't burn up like a Vampire but I don't turn into an Indian either.

Thanks for helping me learn my way through life, MBTIc.

(I should be ashamed of this thread, right?)

I would lie out for half an hour on each sides with low-SPF sunblock on. Like, 15-25. Make sure you don't move around a lot, and get front and back even.

P.S. I just got back from the tanning salon like 45 minutes ago. Seriously.

Jesus. Go to the store and get some dark tanning oil, slather it on and bake.

edit: try and do it at least a week before the wedding so you aren't burned. a couple of hours should have you looking like adonis in no time. and yeah flip flop like a salmon.

Go surfing for about 1.5hours, preferably for a week straight. Nothing tans like water.

Oh don't be condescending, Jen. Not all of us are as cosmetically aware as you. Also, keep in mind you're speaking to an ISTJ. I'M A PLANNER MOTHA FUGGAAA.

I don't know how to surf and I'm gonna go out on a limb when I assume the surf along Coastal Carolina is atrocious.

Too bad I'm not still in the bay area. Santa Cruz ftw.

Sounds like a plan. I'll go with it.

I was being serious. If it were me I'd do the tanning salon thing but i'm trying to stay away from those places. skin cancer. spray tanning is okay as long as you exfoliate well before hand otherwise it looks ugly after 5 days.

Yeah, I mean all the glory to Merc, but I'm just not going to do that. It's not that important to me and I kind of wanted to get to the beach.

The High Pressure booth at my place is only 1% UV rays.

OK, I don't even deserve a "no homo" there.
