I don't understand the obsession with hipsters in the last 10-15 years.

Sometimes people label me as a hipster. It bothers me a little bit, because, while I might occasionally come off as pretentious, I've more or less dressed and acted the same way since I was about 13 years old. I've never made a conscious effort to fit some mold. I wore silly, "ironic" tees before it was fashionable and kids called me a geek with no fashion sense. I wear them now, and people assume I'm being fashionable or think I am a poseur.

I am a one man clique.

Anyway, the original hipsters were black jazz musicians in the 40s and beat poets in the 50s, little resembling the unemployed art history grads riding their lambrettas around williamsburg, renouncing their upper middle class roots while simultaneously enjoying the fruits of their trust fund accounts.

AND apologies to OP, as my rant did little to actually address your question.

Hard to say bc hipsters really range between like glamorous rich kids living off their parents money to grimey panhandling junkies.. But yeah a lot of ISFPs. Probably FPs in general are over represented.

It seems like the only thing that makes a hipster anymore is the superficial. In other words, fashion. As @Lyedecker said, hipster used to be something entirely different. Now it's just lame trendy affectation.

I suppose that, in a sense, there was a fashion element to the original hipsters, but they were always cutting edge, at the forefront of popular trends, whereas the current hipsters are content to revisit old trends, in many cases doing so for the sake of being "ironic" i.e. trucker hats, t-shirts with wolves, 8-track cassette tapes, bob ross hair styles, sweaters with alligators, etc
