Default How I know almost nobody I work with is a sensor...

... on Thursday and Friday of last week I wore two identical pairs of shirts and pants. On Monday and Tuesday of this week I wore that same pair. On Wednesday I wore the same shirt, only in a slightly different color. Yesterday I wore a duplicate of the shirt and pants I'm wearing today.

    Nobody has noticed this.

Their not saying something doesn't mean they haven't noticed. [on the other hand, saying something would mean they had noticed.] Maybe they're too polite to say anything about it.

I notice what people wear all the time, also haircuts and other changes. If they're nice, I say something, if not, I don't mention it. If I thought someone was wearing the same clothes because he/she only had one or two outfits, I wouldn't embarrass that person by mentioning it. Or perhaps everyone thinks you have designed a work uniform for yourself and that's what you choose to wear.

An outfit that stands out is much more likely to elicit a comment. Something very sharp that fits you well.

    Nobody notices haircuts, either.

Actually, one person in the office from another department noticed that I was wearing the same thing on Monday that I wore on Thursday and Friday, but nobody in engineering has. We're totally numb to stuff like that.

This isn't a sensor thing, perhaps, as much as how much people want to talk to you about your dress sense and changes?

Usually it's someone from another department wandering through that points out things like haircuts and such.

Then again, I once shaved my beard off after having it for two years and it took my mother over a month to notice it.

I did, but I didn't want to hurt your feelings.

I wish I could post here, but alas, I cannot.

People notice if I use a different brand of shaving cream.
