In fact at Esalen, Big Sur, California.

Prior to Esalen, my Mecca was the University of Oxford, England.
But eventually I saw the light and transferred my affections to you.

Until, finally I fell in love with Canberra.

Good thing you're not at Big Sur now.

There's also a huge lesbian population as well. I lived in San Diego for a little over a year. I also was accepted to Berkeley, but ended up taking a break from school instead of going. I use to go to S.F. quite a bit for leisure (once a month), a few years ago.

I still live close to CA. Via AZ.

I'm afraid that I'm more than a tad distant from California...

    I'm here:Harrisburg_Dauphin.jpg

    Within there: pennsylvania.jpg

A few thousand miles away from CA.

Yeah, same here (further south/west but same state). I've been to Silicon Valley (Mountain View) on business trips though, I am totally envious of you Cali residents Last time I was out there I had about 6 hours to blow with a rental car (before I had to be at SFO), and I had the opportunity to drive all up and down between Mountain View and Cupertino, ended up somewhere at the foothills of the nearby mountains (missed a turn and ended up driving towards some quarry), turned around and rolled through Sunnyvale after passing by Apple headquarters briefly. It's kinda funny how all these cool cities bearing a hotbed of technology companies are all within... like 5-10 minutes from one another.

    My daughter loves Pfeiffer Beach.

It's great to live in CA with so many lovely spots - Big Sur, Mendocino Coast, Pt. Reyes, Yosemite, Wine Country, Gold Country, 17-Mile Drive, 49-Mile Drive through SF, Tilden Park, Art Deco LA, Burney Falls, Mt. Shasta, Lassen, Lake Tahoe and Fallen Leaf Lake, etc.
