I have two ways of talking: I can talk in cliches and become part of the background, or I can speak from my deepest self.
When I speak from my deepest self, I call to the deepest self of others, and many others find this disturbing.
However my deepest self is most alive, and is completely at home in Western culture.
I think the problem is that our deepest selves are controlled by religion and business and we find this control by others to be comfortable. Whereas taking control of our deepest self, puts us outside the protection of religion and business. So it takes strength, luck and daring to follow our deepest self.
Weird, schmeird. If you're not a little weird then it's time to dig inside yourself and start figuring out who you are and how to live it out more honestly. Or you're a robot. In which case, will you please do my homework?
lol. This is what people wanted me to do the whole time I was growing up. But, like @JAVO said, the preferred term is "android". This at least acknowledges the fact that we were made to look human.
