I rarely spend much on tangibles, aside from essentials, like food/liquids/bills/gas. The main stuff is usually travel, followed distantly by clothing (which is technically essential), followed by plants.

    Latest shopping trip:

    Spotted Aloe Vera

    Sofa

    Coffee Table

    Table lamps (2)

    In no likes experiment.

I bought a knife sharpener and some cheap microfiber cloths. Oh, and five dollar ear buds, one of which I amputated so I could more easily (and discretely) use them at work.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

Aside from clothes that I bought a couple weeks ago (semi-necessity, somewhat for convenience (more = washing less often), somewhat to standardize (now I have a full set of khaki-colored pants), and somewhat to avoid having a shirt I like discontinued on me (bought a few spares of each)), the last purchases I made were these:

    New daily-carry - combo-blade (CPM-D2 edge w/ Sandvik 13C26 for the remainder) Kershaw Leek:

Kershaw Leek with an S30V blade, liner, and G10 handles (really, really slip-resistant):

This was another possible daily carry, but the handle is so sharp that it shreds my pant pockets. I need to get a sheet of metal fabricated to sandwich between the handle and the clip so I can carry it more...

Both are speed-safe assisted-openers, like all Leeks.

I would like to boast that I was recently given Duran Duran's box set of the Singles from 1981- 1985. One can never have too much Duran Duran.
