That, yeah, which is not insignificant -- also just because you form some sort of picture in your mind of other people, and it can be unnecessarily disconcerting to find out your picture was wrong.

I was raised by women and identify with them. Not as in being a woman, thats impossible, but because I get on with them AND adore them.

Since I fall into the category you mentioned, I took the opportunity to provide a response to the OP more along the lines of what was probably desired. I am certainly guilty of the practice, and don't mind explaining myself (after having some fun, of course).

Interesting. I must have left quite a trail of disconcerted members, then. I still run across members who think I am a guy. It's never bothered me much, but it does seem to matter to some of them. Perhaps I just have an easier time revising my image of someone when I find out my assumptions were incorrect; or perhaps I don't visualize people the same way when our only contact is words on a forum.
I've been called a criminal, a terrorist, and a threat to the known universe. But everything you were told is a lie. The truth is, they've taken our freedom, our home, and our future. The time has come for all humanity to take a stand...

    Confusing indeed.
I use an otter because it's my favorite animal, and I think the particular picture and text are hilarious. That being said, a quick visit to my profile should suffice for anyone trying to draw a mental image of my appearance.

Yeah, same. I love them all so much that I completely stay away from them.

Yeah, I think there's a good amount of people here with animals in their avatars as well. If we've been chatting it up with cats and dogs this whole time, I wouldn't be complaining.

You lost your J. I'm unnecessarily disconcerted.
We should form a support group...or something.
