Default Do you have hard time with seriousness?

Like when shit gets real, do you feel the need to crack a joke?

I tend to crack jokes because people overestimate the seriousness of the situations they're in. Sometimes people need levity to realize how ridiculous they're being.

That's not to say I never raise my voice in an argument or something like that, but I tend to say my piece and walk away from most arguments before things escalate. People think I'm a little arrogant for doing that but I don't care because, again, people overestimate the seriousness of things.

My friends/family know that if I am serious, shit definitely got real.

I used to play music with this brilliant ENFP guitar-player man, who was the funniest, most clever, quick-minded person I have ever met. Robin Williams fast.
But that's all he ever did. He told jokes and nothing else. He couldn't be serious about anything.
    So yeah.

Sometimes I do, or I laugh with those who do, my 7 wing probably..
I can so easily laugh at anything, then those around me would laugh at me laughing about it..

Other than that, I am over all a serious person

I have a harder time with laughter. Intellectually, I understand that laughing with others about human flaws and mistakes and hardships can be a way of finding courage in hard times. But emotionally, I just can't find the humor.

And I think that as brave as laughter can be, it can be fearful, too - employed as a defense, coming from a fear of feeling the full emotional impact of what's going on. Sheepishness. When I sense that someone is being like that, it makes my blood boil. But my seriousness is probably about fear, too - fear of making any peace with vulnerability and vulnerable situations. To laugh is to stop resisting it.

I think we all have a hard time with seriousness unleavened by levity.

William Shakespeare understood this and interleaved the serious and levity.

Levity make the serious not only bearable, but also puts it in perspective, and adds another layer of meaning.

And levity without seriousness becomes frivolous.
