Well, if you're thinking "how many years could I live on what a Ferrari costs, 2-3 years is probably about right (not talking about the super-custom ones, and assuming my current standard of living / expenses / savings after tax, etc.). But I was thinking more in terms of "if I put that money into a retirement account now, how many years earlier could I retire 20 years from now". More than 2-3, for sure. Retirement time is priceless (to me, anyway).

He looked at me like I was crazy. Then he said that there are cars he would like to spend fifteen minutes taking pictures of, but if he was just going to blow a lot of money, he'd have a really ridiculous computer built. (paraphrasing, he's more articulate than that)

I think being a truck driver when it's not your dream job probably kills whatever love you might otherwise have of driving. He always makes me drive when he's not working. I do it without complaint on the condition that he acts as though he's not afraid.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

No, primarily for the reason that it would attract too much attention, as others have stated. I suspect a Ferrari is more likely to broken into than a shitty 20 year-old-station wagon.
[Trump's] rhetoric is not an abuse of power. In the same way that it's also not against the law to do a backflip off of the roof of your house onto your concrete driveway. It's just mind-numbingly stupid and, to say the least, counterproductive. - Bush did 9-11

true, I do hate talking to cab drivers most of the time. one cab driver called me at midnight just to say hi, and another one kidnapped me and my boyfriend for a few minutes.

Apparently that picture is of an F430, which was produced between 2004 and 2009. I like the "Launch Control" button.

I looked up prices for used ones. They seem to be around $120K to $190K.

If I could easily afford it, I would get one but not if it was going to be yellow.

This, Exactly! I'll pay for quality, but have limits.

Make it a SLR-500 and I'll vote yes.

No. If I had that kind of extra money, I'd piss it away on worthy charities like the insufferable tree hugging bleeding heart liberal I am.
