Off the top of my head my first thought is Detroit. It and many other Michigan cities (Saginaw, Flint, etc.) are spiralling into terribly poverty-stricken, crime-infested hell holes. I think arguments could be made for many "rust belt" towns and cities whose manufacturing sectors have dried up. East St. Louis, Illinois could make quite a case for itself, being that it has the highest crime rate in the US according to a cursory google search.

Although logically it would be pretty close to Florida. If Detroit was the butthole that would make a pretty enormous swath of land "America's taint".

    Las Vegas

In fact, I think this is a perfect metaphor. People are often attracted to the way butts look, but the truth is that buttholes are gross, I mean poop comes out of them; Vegas is kind of like that, it looks really sexy, but pretty much stinks.

Do you mind if I ask you why you think it's Las Vegas?

Because I lived there for six years. It is a shithole.

What makes it a shithole, more specifically?

You have apparently never lived in Las Vegas. It is an illusion, it's a lie. They have some of the worst schools in the nation, homeless people are everywhere, there's a crystal meth issue there (like there often is in land-locked cities where there are a lot of desperate people and very little access to imported drugs on the coast, like cocaine and heroin), it is 120 degrees for nearly four months of the year....the place is a joke. There's no culture. The lone "art museum" is inside of a small library branch. Even the rich people who moved there from L.A. don't want to live IN Las Vegas, they had to build these special towns outside of it so they could live away from the riff raff.

There's a reason why so many episodes of COPS is filmed in North Las Vegas.

The strip is an illusion, even. My exes mom was a supervisor at the Luxor for like 15 years and she said people kill themselves in Vegas all the time, it's one of the suicide capitals of the world, they just suppress all of this stuff to keep the tourists coming in. I mean what do you expect in a place where gambling is legal, the mafia owns half of the city, and people can drink 24 hours a day.

The phrase "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" isn't an adorable joke; it's a threat.

Also, people are equally as hostile and rude there as you would expect them to be more in a place like Jersey or some parts of NYC.

Anyone who has actually lived there knows the truth: anarcho-capitalism doesn't work.

No, I haven't lived there. I've been through Vegas once but we never actually stopped.

Your description matches my assumption about what Vegas is really like. I don't have any desire to visit other than to have a first-hand appreciation of the magnitude of some of the facilities.

Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California are America's fat ass and Mexico is the shit hanging off of it.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and actually, rural Nevada is where the high suicide rate is, not Las Vegas. And I'd probably be suicidal if I was stuck living in a rural area, too. And why blame a city or a casino for someone's gambling addiction that leads to their suicide? Blame the addict for a lack of self-control. It's better they kill themselves after they lose all their money than mooch off others (or perhaps rob and kill them).

Florida is a penis and a butthole. I don't know why, but most of the people I've met from Florida have this weird kind of arrogant swagger about them. I don't know where it comes from, but they act like growing up in a shithole made them better people, somehow. While people from Florida definitely can be likeable, there is usually an obnoxious Florida attitude that overlays that.

Florida deserves all the hate that unfairly goes to California. I like that people love to rip on the "shallowness" of California while simultaneously being glued to inane reality shows and celebrity gossip.

And for any Floridians here, I realize this is dealing in gross stereotypes and generalizations, but that's sort of the point of this thread, no? Feel free to rip on Pennsylvania, if you're so inclined.
[Trump's] rhetoric is not an abuse of power. In the same way that it's also not against the law to do a backflip off of the roof of your house onto your concrete driveway. It's just mind-numbingly stupid and, to say the least, counterproductive. - Bush did 9-11
