I was a dancer for twelve years -- tap, jazz, ballet, ballroom, contra, square, swing, salsa, etc. -- and you'd be surprised how remarkably uncoordinated I can be. Occasionally, though, I'll find a groove and can bust moves like you've never seen before. At least that's what I imagine I'm doing.

I've never had much experience with improvisation, though, which I think may be one of my problems. I'm never really sure what to do in a club setting. Girls tell me I make things too complicated when all they want to do is grind. I'd say my dancing style is kinda like Rick Astley.

That's braggable, my friend. (Seriously, I'm all a-marvel at your dance background! And envious too! I did some ballroom when I was a teenager. It was fun.)

I'm Pentecostal, so I can clap on beat, but sometimes I forget which beat I'm supposed to clap on. Dancing, aerobics, etc I'm hopeless and always several steps behind. It's probably one of those things that would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

I can't even clap on beat, I'm a failure when it comes to rhythm. It's like in my head I know but it comes out like me having a spaz attack. or a beat or two off, so no you can not get me to dance or clap in rhythm. Trust me I'm doing everyone a favor.
    In no likes experiment.

    that is all

Ok then Jive and Cafe - you'll have to join me in the Hokey Pokey. I'm making Lemon Drop Martinis so it will be fun.

I'm glad I'm not the only SP who can't dance. I'm terrible at learning choreography, whether for dancing or martial art forms, it takes me forever to pick it up because I have a hard time translating what I'm seeing into how my body should move....once I get through the right motions once myself it's really easy though. I'm sooo uncoordinated and clumsy in general too, it's pretty absurd.

I swear kung fu is making me become a little less clumsy in my daily life....though maybe that's all in my head.
