    Spelt/Spelled.

    Yes, it does work because in addition to what you were thinking, Spelt also means Dinkel Wheat. Whatever that is lol.

    I challenge, I don't think spelt and spelled sound the same.

    Homophones of course, are subject to differ from accent to accent, but I still don't think Spelt/Spelled is one.

    Homoephones are... Regional.

    For example, somehwere, not here, but somewhere 'MIGHT' have; three/tree as a homophone.

    Homophones are different according different accents and regional dialects.
