luckily the brain isnt built that way. Even at the level of neuron to neuron interactions there is an activation treshhold to limit viral spread of every impulse throughout the brain resulting in pure noise (ie strokes) over the whole system. Same applies with more complex situations, videos rarely go viral for example, and even when they do it stops at some point. U can pretty much do a statistical analysis and i d assume the trends would be pretty stable when it comes to the way diverse types of information spread if you adjust for degrees of connectiveness in the network and threshold of work needed to transmit the information

You know it don't take much to tip the TypoC server. Three people click on the same link and boom goes the dynamite!

I think it's good form to respond to at least every other rep someone sends you.

When you dip below the 50% ratio, you start getting into questionable territory.

Below the 33% line, and you shouldn't be surprised if they stop repping you.

I typically don't respond to reps that I don't feel like I have much to contribute to other than "lol" or "that's cool". or return a rep some other time.

Well, yeah, some reps demand a response more than others.

Some need to be responded to, some don't.

The ratio I usually get them in works into that 50%/33% ratio, tho.

Also, responding not by vm'ing or pm'ing can be ok, so long as you rep them for something they posted within a reasonable amount of time, taking into account the aforementioned ratios.

I just think I'm annoying someone if it's only one way interaction. I wouldn't think a lol or a throwaway comment would warrant a response though.

You are better at this stuff than I am, man. I think up responses and then get distracted and then forget to repond unless it's urgent. I bring shame to Fe doms. LOL
