    No, not at all. But I think it's reasonable for some people to be jolted into a state of contemplation about it, and I don't see why that should be dismissed as unnecessary. it's just how some people are impacted by events like this. Maybe you happen to be different, which is fine. You should really recognize there are more options than "ignore it completely as irrelevant" vs "break down into a hysterical sobbing mess." Jix's response seems within the reasonable range, doesn't it? It's not really messing up his life, but it's just making him think more about life.
