Looks like the Vent crew made an alliance between them.
One for all, all for one!
A man builds. A parasite asks 'Where is my share?'
A man creates. A parasite says, 'What will the neighbors think?'
A man invents. A parasite says, 'Watch out, or you might tread on the toes of God... '
It happens to people daily, he's not special because he saw someone die. What do you expect to happen when someone dies in a busy intersection? shut down the road for days to mourn them?
No, not at all. But I think it's reasonable for some people to be jolted into a state of contemplation about it, and I don't see why that should be dismissed as unnecessary. it's just how some people are impacted by events like this. Maybe you happen to be different, which is fine. You should really recognize there are more options than "ignore it completely as irrelevant" vs "break down into a hysterical sobbing mess." Jix's response seems within the reasonable range, doesn't it? It's not really messing up his life, but it's just making him think more about life.
You didn't challenge my thinking, you disregarded it completely.
On the contrary, I've now addressed it twice, without even breaking a sweat.

“Pleasure to me is wonder—the unexplored, the unexpected, the thing that is hidden and the changeless thing that lurks behind superficial mutability. To trace the remote in the immediate; the eternal in the ephemeral; the past in the present; the infinite in the finite; these are to me the springs of delight and beauty.” ~ H.P. Lovecraft
