Geez, blue on white burns my freakin' retinas. My eyes are sore now

I wonder if anyone else is able to read jarring text better than I am. Maybe my eyeballs are just messed up?

Exactly. The OP has created the one thread where it is impossible to get off-topic because there wasn't one to begin with. All method, no content.

But can we change topics like a ninja? Cause nijas are cool. Aren't they?

If the topic is how good we are at it, we can discuss that without demonstrating. In that case, I am very good at it, and have done it successfully in many cases where the topic really needed to be changed gracefully. Less graceful but equally effective is to create a distraction.

How subtly are we talking here?
'One of (Lucas) Cranach's masterpieces, discussed by (Joseph) Koerner, is in it's self-referentiality the perfect expression of left-hemisphere emptiness and a precursor of post-modernism. There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

"Suppose it didn't," said Pooh, after careful thought.

With kids- distraction is quite easy. With small minded adults, same. With intuitive people, a little more difficult- but I have done it successfully. (And yes- at times - a situation requires a clobber to the head, "Let's change the subject!!" lol)

This thread you can't get off topic because by going off topic you're still on topic and if reply with something inline with the op you're still on topic so you can't win.

but can we talk about how and why old threads like these are found and resurrected in the first place?
There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.
