    Default Poll Based Thread Survey

When someone posts a poll, do you generally make a reply to explain your position and discuss the question at hand, or do you merely vote and go on your way?

    1. This is worthless nonsense.
    2. This is an interesting, but perverse, point of view.
    3. This is true, but quite unimportant.
    4. I always said so.

I tend to reply to explain my vote.

I wish there was a 50/50 option, but because there isn't, in this case I am only replying in the thread and not voting. Woah, option 3!

Mostly just vote. Occasionally explain my vote. Occasionally do omw's option 3.

If my vote needs elaborated upon or an explanation is requested, I do. Otherwise, I generally just vote.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

Since the voting options don't cover both, or offer a "mix" option, I'll just post.

Whether or not people can see how I voted will impact whether I vote, depending on the topic at hand.

If my vote is self-explanatory or I have little interest besides voting, I'll just vote.

If the vote isn't nuanced enough, I won't vote but might explain if I care about the topic.

Sometimes I will vote and then also comment on a topic that is important to me.

“Pleasure to me is wonder—the unexplored, the unexpected, the thing that is hidden and the changeless thing that lurks behind superficial mutability. To trace the remote in the immediate; the eternal in the ephemeral; the past in the present; the infinite in the finite; these are to me the springs of delight and beauty.” ~ H.P. Lovecraft

I usually say a little something. Why not?
