Default Public Service Announcement to Future Superheroes

If you ever find yourself in a situation where you can actually pick a superpowers, please reconsider your choice of time stopping. It may sound wonderful, but you have not considered the implications. It is in fact, too wonderful.

Time stoppers are easily identified because they age years within the first month of gaining their superpower. In fact, children born with time stopping abilities are indistinguishable from progeria sufferers. You may believe that you will only use your ability sparingly and that your willpower will keep you from shrinking into geriatry prematurely, and to that I say.. yeah right.

Consider instead instant teleportation. It has many of the benefits of time stopping but without the major drawbacks. Be sure to include mass displacement, inertial and orientation translation clauses in your request. Or if you have your heart set on time stopping, be sure to procure immortality with the 'looking good' clause. In which case you will only be different from your peers by your billions of dollars, dead eyes and loss of human impulses.

    Thank you.

But. Can you just finagle the 'looking good' clause into it and cover the aging problem?

Time stopping seems too stagnant. Who would choose that? Then your world would forever be constant except for what you did. How boring is that?

Mind Reading. Now there is a cool super power.

I'm not sure on that one. If you can move and stuff, then that means you age. Eternal youth is probably its own power. We'll have to take this to the Super Powers Council.

Mind Reading would be awesome providing you could turn it off and on.

I wouldn't choose time stopping because I'm afraid it might break the universe.
