Default staring at words until they look like they're spelled wrong

Has this ever happened to anybody? It happened to me, with the word "science" today... has it happened to you?

well when it does happen, don't panic, because I panicked, & it just got worse.

Happens to me a lot. That, and staring at letters in general until they look weird and foreign.

Haha yes, that happens to me too. Or also saying a word over and over again, and it starts to lose its meaning and just sound strange or funny. Words that I have done that with incude "oven," "lunch," and "porpoise."
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

Ooo those are good, "oven" is really strange to look at also, "lunch" sounds dumb when I think about it now. OMG I think i'm going into it again.. i used to have moments when suddenly people's conversation would sound like it was a in a foreign language.. that's how i feel today.

Yes. The word "from" is the bane of my existence for that very reason. The "fr" combination just starts to look odder and odder...

When that happens, I like to say that a word 'broke down'. It evokes a strange feeling oscillating between incompetence and absurdity.
