I was about to suggest that.

I'm sorry to hear that you can only hear out of one ear, Patches. I have a similar problem... I'm almost deaf in my right ear, though I can hear very loud, low things out of it. My other ear is good... for now. I'm not sure if I'll lose my hearing in that one or not.

If you don't want to replace all the batteries, an alternative would be to get someone to come down who has better hearing, and have them find out where it's coming from and replace it.

I'm living in a giant 4-bedroom apartment alone. There were some interesting circumstances which landed me in here for 1/4th the rent (basically paying rent as if 4 people were renting it).

1 in each bedroom, 2 in the hallway outside of the bedrooms, 2 in the kitchen, 2 in the living room.

Is there anything the apartment management can do? No one should have to endure that.

I had a similar situation happen to me not long ago but I only I had to endure it for about 20 minutes or so and I was already going bonkers. I can't imagine 3 weeks.

I don't think you should be expected to maintain batteries in TEN fire alarms for one apartment (Seriously, what were they thinking with that?!)....that seems like a thing that the apartment people should do, especially since you rent. Those things are expensive. Have you complained to them yet?

If you are responsible for it though, that really sucks.

(I live in a giant three-story house with 8 people. We have 3 fire alarms, one on each level....)
