Default Welcome to Atheisia, i.e. a place where "gods" do not exist

Note: this thread is not intended for theists, or theists posing under the intellectual safety of agnosticism, or atheists who are atheists simply due to the fact that they are nihilists.

    That being said...

Most people believe in the existence of a god.

However, I do not, because I cannot, i.e. nothing would lead me to believe that such a thing exists. I feel connected to others who, like me, cannot believe in the existence of a supernatural power as far as their common sense and use of logical reasoning dictate.

    Random thought:

I cannot stand people who confuse atheism with nihilism, grrrr they are sooooo not the same thing.

Duh, all nihilists are necessarily atheists, but not all atheists are nihilists.

What about most others believing in a god makes you frown?

    I don't know.

It just kinda reminds me of the sad fact that most people don't really know how to think for themselves, or even how to think well for that matter.

Critical thinking is an important tool, and I fear that most people are either unfamiliar with how to use it, or simply, that they're without.

Thinking critically is perhaps one of those things I value most amongst humans, without it, we can be vicious beasts.

    Sorry. I don't have an anti-spirituality forum.

You might want to speak to management about that.

And, nice thread. Carry on. . .

I totally agree with that. It worries me for the same reasons it does you. I just wonder if they really understand what they're saying or the implications of it. It's almost like they really don't know what they mean, or what they're supporting.

You have stated very well what its not intended for or whom I guess but what it is intended for escapes me... a bash fest? What?

It all comes down to reasoning; how someone arrives at their conclusion.

I respect only those atheists who are atheists for similar, if not the same reasons as me.

Like-minded atheists that I've had the opportunity to either communicate with personally, or more passively through reading, all seem to share similar rational thoughts derived from what has been, and is, their independent thinking.

    Much love to me/them/us!!!
