I am in a generous mood tonight, so I will recant what I originally stated and say this, there is probably a positive correlation between Agnosticism and intelligence.

Again, for undescribed reasons. I suppose this is another thing you intuitively know?

Well, how nice. I'm an agnostic.
Still, I'm going to ponder the accuracy in this.

He sucks, I can't stand his writings, I have had to read him like three times since eighth grade, I just can't stand him, he is intelligent sure, but kinda stupid in the same right, his reasoning is also poor.

    Duality, cogito ergo sum?!?!?!?

    C'mon, what anthropomorphic bollocks.

It makes perfect sense. In his meditations, he tried to discount the existence of everything. He imagined away pretty much the entire physical world. However, attempts to remove himself were impossible, because in order for him to think about getting rid of his mind, his mind had to exist to think about it. He doubted himself, but in doing so, he thought, so therefor he is.

It's a self-evident truth, and it's a very important concept for anyone that believes in epistemological absolutism. Seeing as how you even think you know objective morality, I assume you must believe in epistemological absolutism.

And your comment about him being intelligent and yet stupid is sort of going in the right direction. The mind is far too modular to draw correlations as broad as the one you were drawing.

Oh, pshaw. That's altering a whole factual opinion based on prejudice against one person.

    I was kidding.

And of course you would be a fan of Descartes.

    :rolli:

Wait, before you post a response, yeah, I know, you never claimed to be a fan of his.

    As oppose to...?

What are you? I just really can't understand how someone would be a moral objectivist, and yet not be an epistemological objectivist. So maybe you are an objectivist, but not a rationalist. There are many of those.

Okay, let me say that I understand how someone could be such a thing, but I can't understand how such a philosophy actually makes sense.

Well I suppose it could be argued that given that there's no apparent logical reason to be religious (aside from, like, a god revealing itself to you and proving, to you, that he/she/it/them exists...but that could also mean you're just crazy and seeing things), people who are otherwise rational that believe in a god(s), compartmentalize their logic, which is definitely not intelligent - at least in my opinion....not that I'm totally innocent of doing it, or anything.

I can somewhat understand hoping that a god exists, but believing that one does exist seems like taking it a step too far, to me.
