I'm in a hodgepodge state (NC). We call it soda. I don't know anyone who calls it pop, and "coke" typically means Coca-Cola (so if you order a coke, they don't ask you "what kind?" like they do in the areas where it's all called coke).

My mom comes from the Western part of the state, though, and she calls everything "Co-Cola."

Here a coke is a brand name, so they might ask diet or no...
Most people here call is pop, although I have mostly friends from the NE or South Florida, who call it soda, which I got used to, as people always know what it means, even if they may stare a bit.

That being said, I love cream soda, ginger ale, and root beer. I also love the Japanese drinks with the marble caps, and the ones from Calpis (Calpico). ^.^

Miranda is my favorite. It's orange soda commonly found in middle eastern countries, but there's something distinct about it from other orange sodas. I like drinking it straight out of a bottle, old-fashion-like, and collecting the caps to have bottle-cap soccer and football games with later.

I haven't had one in years though, so Jones Soda has taken its place as a favorite. However, I do not drink soda of any kind on anything resembling a regular basis.

Interesting picks! I really do not drink soda anymore, but it would have to be Pennsylvania Dutch red birch beer. Delicious!
