    Thumbs down Pack Attack

There's really only one rule here and that is no ad hominem attacks.

Some don't understand this and it's really a failure of perception or even a moral failure.

But there are those who do understand it quite well. And we know that because they disguise their ad hominem attacks behind humour.

And because they do disguise their attacks behind humour means they know what they are doing.

What it means is that they deliberately want to take the opportunity to attack another human being.

And the really scary thing is when they attack as a pack.

I could post a picture of a cupcake, Victor.. and you'd see an ad hominem attack.

I'm being humorous right now. I suppose this very post could be an ad hominem attack too.

Actually, I hate maths like that. I remember when a chemical engineering lecture told me that bunsen burner was 0% efficient because all it did was turn chemical energy into heat. He then went on to say that a combustion specialist might say it was 100% efficient, which struck me as just as dumb. Neither answer says anything useful about the opperation of the burner. Now if they measured what fraction of the heat energy produced got transfered to the object being heated, that would have been more useful.

Anyway . To answer the question, Entropy probably has a point about post counts. Lot of posts without citation would be a good sign. I guess Whatever should probably be mentioned at this point.

Also those people who know how to ignore trolls rather than getting caught up in their antics would rate highly here. I'm good at that, and I suspect there are a lot of other people with low post counts who only comment on those topics what interest them that fall into that category. I suspect a fair few ITJ are like that, but we wont get mentioned because we don't make enough noise to get noticed. That's fine though.

Haha that's good. Thats why we apply a little "th", "m" or "el" to the greek symbol eta which symbolises the efficiency factor. th stands for thermic, m for mechanical and el for electrical .

The answers, to questions like the op started here, are sometimes kinda backwoodsman-like to me, cause they all follow a clear pattern and concentrate on visible clues members show of themselves.

But the answers themselves lack empathy or an understanding of the person in question and sometimes are so superficial that they strike me as a general opinion for which one doesnt really need to be intelligent, but rather can catch it up from his / her bench neighbour.

In that regards I value a more independent approach of thought to things or at least the impression that one has thought about it at all.

The rest is just prejudice and can go to hell together with Terry Jones.

I'd nearly nominate myself, but I've gad a permanent IP-ban before (other members begged the admins to stop banning me, which they did after a few months, but I never returned, who'd have thought I used to be popular once ). I have the tension to get in a fight with other members, sometimes. And once I faked having a twin sister (I was 13 and I thought it would make me more accepted and everyone fell for it).
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

If you don't agree about my MBTI type, you can complain about it here. I've had plenty of people telling me I'm something else, in my reputation box. That's annoying.

I'm gonna stop you there to state ad homs are not against the forum rules, personal attacks are, they are not the same thing.

Thank you. We were talking about that in vent the other day - people seem to mix that up.
