My cousin had a teacher named miss Fok and I had a teacher named mister Pijpers ("pijpen" is Dutch for sucking dick, so "pijpers" means "dick suckers" in Dutch).
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

Joel McHale has gotten a lot of mileage out of Myke Hawke, the Survival guy. Say it fast.

    Candida.

    Chardonnay.

Knew a nurse that had to talk the mom out of naming her baby girl Chlamydia.

Oh and Tyranny but I don't think they spelled it like that.

I knew a Tyranny! At least it was pronounced that way. I think she spelled it something like "Tieranie." She was a cute girl, and if you were going solely on the way syllables sound, it kind of suited her. But I couldn't get past the fact that it IS AN ACTUAL WORD, with NOT a flattering connotation. At first I thought maybe her parents were going for Tierney, like Gene Tierney, but no--she liked to pronounce the middle syllable.

Seems like I've heard several names like that, where the parents didn't realize their kid's name was a real word. Maybe they'll come to me.

I also knew a really gorgeous, tall girl named DaNell. Not Danielle. DUH-NELL. I think it was a combination of syllables from her parents' names. It seemed a shame for such a pretty girl to have such a clunky name.

my favourite bit from that story is that someone in sweden wasn't allowed to call their baby ikea.

I have an aunt "Birt", which is short for "Birthday". She has a brother named Tufat (said "too fat") .

A girl that works at the local grocery store is named Nasquasha.

Those are the oddest that come to mind.

There's some sports dude named Dick Butkus. I always thought his name was unfortunate.
