I try to ignore people, but I can't stick to it. I always start wondering what they said. So I add them for a while after they make me feel insulted or irritated, and then take them off after I cool down.
What category does that place me in?
I would say you are a J who uses the ignore feature.
It is curious how the ignore feature is mostly associated with some personal insult or conflict.
Setting posters to "ignore" is at best a half-measure. The posts of those selected are still accounted for in threads, and text therefrom may appear elsewhere in quotations. Highly offensive members will be ejected by forum administration. Why would I want to remind myself that I needed to pretend that someone wasn't there?
I am not currently using it, but have in the past and would consider doing so in the future if I found someone annoying enough.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.” ~ John Rogers
