People usually find a way of letting you know. It's why people put people on ignore lists instead of just ignoring them imo.

Don't use the feature here but on other forums I do and the last thing I'd want to do is let the other person know they are on ignore, I find that approach passive aggressive, and stupidly ironic as in order to let someone know you are ignoring them you have to address them therefore get their attention and encourage them to address you. The most effective way to use the ignore function is to actually *surprise* ignore them.

For me the ignore feature is for people who I've learnt are a waste of time and effort to attempt to interact with, as I have a crap-house memory I use the ignore function as a reminder system that says "DON'T BOTHER TRYING" or "ENGAGE AT OWN RISK". It's quite effective.

This. All of this. It's an "ignore" list, not a "people I want to start drama with" list.

Avery Brown: Because it's boring and dishonest and uncomfortable, like wearing a pair of shoes all day that pinch your feet.
