Think humor, art, psychology/MBTI and art related subjects should have extra protection against harsh scrutiny...more than the other subjects.

Could you elaborate or clarify what exactly qualifiesas "harsh scrutiny" and why do you believe that particular topics should be afforded "protection" from it and what that would involve?

I mean from I can tell the contra moderation position boils down to I should be able to say what I like, when I like, to who I like, where ever I like on the forum. Which would not be something you would expect anywhere else, its certainly not how friends, or even strangers generally, conduct themselves.

I don't think so. How were you interpreting the word?

Well, I intended it as definition 1 listed here.

    Main Entry: chafe
    Pronunciation: \ˈchāf\
    Function: verb
    Inflected Form(s): chafed; chaf·ing

    transitive verb
    1 : irritate, vex
2 : to warm by rubbing especially with the hands
3 a : to rub so as to wear away : abrade <the strap chafed his skin> b : to make sore by or as if by rubbing

    intransitive verb
1 : to feel irritation, discontent, or impatience : fret <chafes at the rules>
2 : to rub and thereby cause wear or irritation
I could tell (I think) that Morgan was making a pun, I just didn't understand it.

What I am saying is the scrutiny I pray that the moderators consider is what are the basic matters of debate that a forum like this should inheirantly think is important. Similar to what the U.S. Supreme Court think are the higher levels of protected speech that deserve protected speech in a nation wide debate (i.e. religion/political debate/etc.) and on the other hand unprotected speech (kiddy porn/likely to instigate immediate illegal violence etc.). I appreciate this is a private forum open to the public but some speach...especially MBTI/humor here might deserve higher protection. Maybe even the less deeper thinker types would even agree with me on this.

Actually I personally like most of the mods but I would implore them to consider values [both the thinking and "feeling "types] ( even differences opinion and ideas they don't agree with) to consider before creating "chilling effects" on free speech.

Thank you for allowing me to elaborate as you are one of the posters that I don't necessarily agree with their conclusions but nevertheless respect their logical analysis.

The funny thing is that I don't know any of us on staff who are against free speech and typically we prefer that people be able to share ideas ... and some of us based on type are even willing to consider ideas that some people really are made uncomfortable by.

Our focus is really more on how those ideas are shared, not what is shared... especially in politics, religion, science, and MBTI... and the bans that have been occurring have been because of how ideas are shared, not what ideas are shared. If you start tearing down the people rather than just analyzing and debunking the ideas, then you're going to find yourself in trouble; and if you manage to make yourself a royal pain in most people's butts because of your approach, you will also find yourself in trouble.

(Unless of course you want to drag in the whole "sexuality subforum" issue... which was more a matter about keeping this site on focus for what it's actually named after.)

In any case, technically this site has veered a decent amount from the original focus, which was more typology-based. Much of the conversation that occurs here is really focused on other items nowadays and it's become more of a social hangout that anything really focused on MBTI and other typology systems. If anything deserves to be protected on a site called TypologyCentral, I can't help from a rational perspective to believe it should be typology-related conversations and not some of the other things that particular individuals have dragged into the "free speech" debate (including "sex"). I think the site's already been very diverse in what sort of extensive conversation we've allowed.

He was an addict. Why else did he feel the urgent need to re-register knowing full well that it'll only extend his ban period with at least months? And he's done it twice! He could very well be posting by now iirc. Pathetic.
