When people in the office fake interest in something you're saying or give a fake laugh. Just the whole social dance people can play, and I feel like the office environment is one of the best places to see it. Like, we all know that it's just for show... Right?? I can't be the only one.

Some offices are worse about this than others. For some reason, my office is not so bad about it. Helps that it's full of weirdos and self-described "nonconformists" lol.

My old office and our former consultants' office were just HORRENDOUS in contrast. Like an anxiety dream where someone tells you that you've been cast as the lead in a musical, everyone else has the script/music memorized, and the performance is in ten minutes.
    and it's nice enough to
    make a man
    weep, but I don't
    weep, do
    you?

Oh no way!! That must've been horrible. I guess there is some use to it though as it creates an overall sense of calm even if fake, but so often it feels so forced that I have to crack a smile.

On the flip side though, I guess being around a bunch of pompous asshats that don't care how they come across may not be good to work around either. Basically working with a bunch of Brooklyn Hipsters lol.

I wouldn't say my office is all that bad really, but coming from a boutique firm and going to a corporate one is when I noticed this air of Pleasantville.

At the doctor's now... Fainted due to stress. Shitty day just got worse.
When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

The only thing I hate about you is that you would DARE to use SUCH AN OBNOXIOUS FONT SIZE/COLOR.

I work in a very small office where I'm always listening to the main other 2 people talk. They volunteer and show me their vacation photos and tell me detailed accounts of their lives.

But then I'll speak about something in my life "uh huh/haha/disinterest"

It pisses me off. I don't mind hearing them out but I'd rather not if it means I'm not afforded the same attention they require from me.

I've just come to expect this in life, really, is it not what the whole of Fight Club was really about?
